The Land O'Lakes International Development Division is excited to announce a new initiative with Land O'Lakes Foodservice and Prosperity Worldwide. This new program sponsored by Land O’Lakes Foodservice is called Cows for Africa.  It will allow colleges and universities to help create a better quality of life through the donation of a dairy cow to families in Africa.  This program will support Land O'Lakes International Development division’s work in Malawi.

Land O'Lakes International Development began implementing the Malawi Dairy Development Alliance (MDDA) project in 2007.  The project increases incomes for rural dairy farmers and participating stakeholders by building economies of scale in milk production, collection and processing and meeting demand for affordable, locally produced, dairy products. The International Development Division is pleased to work with Land O’Lakes Foodservice to allow the already existing program to provide more families in Malawi with the help needed to overcome poverty.
