Young Timorese Agriculture Professionals Awarded Certificates for Agribusiness Competency

On August 17, 2009, the Building Agribusiness Capacity East Timor (BACET) program graduated 120 students from the one-year agricultural business training program.  Implemented by Land O’Lakes at three technical agricultural schools administered by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, the BACET program delivered certificates to students who demonstrated competency in agricultural production and business. Certificates were delivered by Timorese national leaders including the Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture, and Deputy Minister of Economic Development. The students were recognized for special training in food preservation, cooperative business development, and business planning, as well as for each student’s completion of an internship.
